Paris Fashion Week – McQueen/ Chloe/ Miu Miu

With Paris fashion week finishing up, I just wanted to do a recap on some of the collections shown.

First and foremost I would like to discuss the talented Alexander Mcqueen, .

Mcqueen’s main inspiration was the sea and all things underwater. There were a lot of reptile patterned and digitally printed patterns on dresses. According Style.com, Mcqueen was casting an apocalyptic forecast of the future ecological meltdown of the world. He explained that humans evolved from the sea and we may return back to the underwater world as the ice caps dissolve.  (now that is some trippy shit)

His collection demonstrated an imaginary sea world, with fish, monsters, dolphins, sharks, mermaids and the like. Some of his stuff went a bit overboard. Like the outfit where one of the models nipples is purposely displayed. However, For the  most part it was incroyable. Mcqueen’s digitally modified pattern’s mixed with his sense of couture really was something to gawk over.

P.S take a look at the shoes worn in this collection they are absolutely Exquisite.

Chloe’s Spring collection is more boyish then ever.  The collection is very laid back and Au Natural. Roomy tailored jackets, loose dress pants and a whole lot of beige were a common theme throughout the collection. I personally got a little bored while sifting through the pictures until I came across my fave look. Channeling what I like to call the Canadian Tuxedo”look.  It was a jean on jean pant and shirt duo. It looked as though it came from Value Village or a flea market but nonetheless I was pretty excited about it.

I was not that impressed by the animal print patterns at the beginning, however once  Miuccia Prada of Miu Miu demonstrated mesh cut out frocks with crystal embellishments The frocks were provocative yet very tasteful. Cut outs and mesh are all the rage right now amongst youth. Miuccia mastered the trends and added a creative spin to them.
