Kate Middleton has Flaws?
We all have them. We are the common people and the “less-than-royal”. Who can honestly with any integrity say that they are perfect? I know exactly who comes to mind, and his name was Jesus Christ. Ok, maybe not for all of you. So this post isn’t about GOD or religion, but rather another story. A fairytale completely unrelated: Kate Middleton. Kate’s story according to the media is, (or alternatively maybe not,) such a rags to riches story. An upper class private school university graduate and 29 year old spinster without any trace of blue blood in her veins; marries a prince and becomes a part of the Royal Family. ‘Tabloid Tenderloin’. So juicy – everyone wanted a piece, just so they could sink their teeth into it. I have to admit, I found the news all a little dry and tasteless. Prince William married Kate Middleton this Friday morning. I am bored already.
So leading up to the wedding, it was front page tabloid and social media news:
“KATE MIDDLETON STARTS SMOKING AGAIN”
“KATE MIDDLETON SMOKING MORE AND MORE LEADING UP TO THE WEDDING”
“KATE MIDDLETON OFFERED E-CIGARETTE”
So what. She smokes. Really? Big deal: U.S.A. President Barak Obama smoked. Elizabeth Taylor smoked. Marilyn Monroe smoked. Meg Ryan, Anna Kournikova and well…Camilla for that matter ALL smoked. Scandalous? Hardly… and it isn’t news. It’s a pathetic attempt to boost readers at the expense of slandering the Royal Family wedding. It’s London England. No one cares. If I were princess Diana, I would haunt you.
In the second headliner leading up to the wedding:
“TOO THIN? KATE MIDDLETON’S WEIGHT TOPIC OF DISCUSSION”
“KATE MIDDLETON AN UNHEALTHY WEIGHT”
If you read these articles and worried, I’d say fear not. It’s all bollocks. Not only at 29 years of age do they refer to her as a spinster, but there is speculation and criticism regarding her weight? Female readers, married, engaged, or just open to matrimony: who does not lose weight before their wedding day? I have a lot of married friends. I’ve been to a few weddings. During the engagement, some spend extra time at the gym – perhaps even hire a personal trainer. Some reduce fat and carbohydrate intake and eat a diet higher in fibre and protein, cutting out bad foods. Kate Middleton shed a few pounds – I witnessed myself watching the wedding on live camera Friday morning – and she looked healthy and incredible. There was nothing in front of that live camera that looked remotely like Nicole Richie or Mary-Kate Olsen. It was just another marketing campaign by sleazy media in an attempt to kill a fairytale of love between a commoner and royalty. #Fail.
