DIMITRI CHRIS Spring 2012 – MFW 21

To cap off our day 1 coverage of Montreal Fashion Week, we were invited to take a walk on the boardwalk with menswear, and now womenswear designer Dimitri Chris. Fully equipped with hanging light bulbs, the runway was transformed into years gone by where the boardwalk was the hip place to hang.

A predominantly menswear collection of softly tailored, crisp preppy looks were updated with modern items like the denim poncho. Women’s looks were playful takes on menswear, but all feminine, like the crisp white shirt now worn as a short tie dress.

My one question which I didn’t get to ask Dimitri is: why single vent blazers vs double vent? Besides that, great collection and awesome presentation with the help of visual artist Gibran Ramos.
