Dimitri Chris – MFW – Spring 2011

“Gentlemen on the high seas” was Dimitri Chris’s inspiration for his Spring 2011 menswear presentation.  Debonair and 100 percent modern, this collection of reworked basics was infused with some more edgy ideas.  Cropped double breasted blazers, U-shaped vests, caplets with hoods, crochet ties and ascots (which gave a scarf allure), all lent themselves to putting forward a strong, sharp and most importantly manly image. Shorts of all lengths were presented and sported with the most cheeky sock garters for men…interesting.  “I like to draw inspiration from women’s wear and set it in a masculine context…guys should have fun!” says Dimitri, designer of his eponymous line.
