Barilà – MFW19 – Spring 2011

Barilà’s Spring/Summer 2011 show had a sugar-and-spice-and-all-that’s-nice appeal to its fresh, feminine and modern collection. For the upcoming season, the Barilà femme is heading beachside in pretty rompers, breezy summer dresses and cute short shorts. The “Godard Girl meets Hawaiian holiday” look was inspired by the designer’s discovery of antique prints from Captain Cook’s 18th century explorations of the heaven-on-earth island. Tropicana reigned with delicious splashes of yellow, purple, turq, blue and my favorite, coral which was seen on dresses and high-wasted culottes. I also heart the Hawaiian tops with pineapple print which was cheeky as it was sweet and the the lovely necklaces from La Raffinerie that accessories the looks. This was a fun and flirty collection for the woman “who lives the life she loves”.
