Diesel’s Loverdose Fragrance

Donna Summer belts out the tunes as blond bombshell model Ashley Smith turns heads, avoids a parking ticket, and receives a multitude of Love declarations in Diesel’s commercial of their Loverdose fragrance. Launched in Canada last October, the perfume is a second scent for women from the Italian denimwear brand. Evoking the emotions as though one would overdose on Love, the sweet scent is described as “sharp as a flint, precious as a diamond, a weapon of seduction guaranteed to go straight to the heart”. With notes of vanilla and cedar, sweetened with licorice and refreshed with citrus, the gourmand perfume resembles Thierry Mugler’s Angel in its boldness in intoxication but not as overwhelming.
Besides the seductive scent, Diesel has created an equally attractive bottle to embody the passionate perfume. Designed in a heart shape, pierced by a deadly dagger, the unique purple and black bottle is striking with a multifaceted surface that can stand in several positions.
Known for their provocative and lustful advertising campaigns, Diesel’s launch party for Loverdose called Heartbreak Hotel didn’t disappoint. Held at trendy Velvet Speakeasy in the Old Port, playful and debauchery fun was on the menu. With a flash of glam and rock, the surrealism themed party had attendees treated to a contortionist and a very sly rabbit!
