Your Computer in F.lux

I don’t know about you, but I’m not a fan of the creepy blue glow my computer gets at night. It’s ugly, it hurts my eyes, and it just can’t be healthy. That’s where f.lux comes in.

Basically, f.lux is a free downloadable app that adapts your computer’s display to the time of day. Computer screens are built to look like sunlight, but during the night the program shifts the colour to make everything look warmer, like indoor lights.

All you have to do is set your location and your type of indoor lighting. The program runs in the background and takes care of everything else, giving your computer a lovely, warm light that’s a pleasure to look at and doesn’t tire out your eyes.

One note, though. If you’re a photographer, designer, or just work with colour a lot, you’ll want to turn it off temporarily, since it’s the colour, not the brightness, that’s being affected.
