Check out while driving, on the new Navisurfer II

I can’t imagine anyone that wouldn’t love having a full computer in the dashboard of the car, especially while on a long drive or in the ever increasing urban traffic. Even in today’s smartphone-filled and tablet abundant society, car dashboard computers are usually primitive at best, and this applies to the luxury models as well. If you are not satisfied with the stock model in your car, then check out the Navisurfer II from VIC.

The Navisurfer II is a touchscreen PC that’s running Ubuntu Linux OS. It’s powered by a 1.3 GHz Intel Celeron M processor with 2GB of memory and has a 250GB hard drive. The two main additions to the previous models are the 3G modem and the GPS receiver. Now you can truly take advantage of the shared data plan if your wireless provider offers it.

The unit is ready for plug ‘n play and can also connect to your rear view camera. Unfortunately for those lacking in the dashboard department, this sucker’s double DIN, yet if you’ve got the room you’re more than ready for some high speed surfing on the go. Obviously, when you buy a PC you also expect to dish out some cash, and the Navisurfer will set you back about $400, plus another $65 for shipping. Until next time, and if you keep looking through our kloset, we’ll keep on adding new kool ideas and gadgets to it.
