Make Printing Sustainable with Soy Printer Ink
Soybeans are a renewable and sustainable resource in that it takes little energy and water to grow while producing abundant yields. Generally printer inks are petroleum-based, which can mean hazardous effects for the environment when you add up all the newsletters, newspapers, memos, etc. that are printed out on a daily basis. Soy printer ink prints just as brightly and effectively as petroleum-based ink, has greater rub-resistance, and is competitively priced with other inks so that it won’t make a huge dent in your budget.
Other simple “green” office tips:
- Don’t print unless you have to. Use email and instant messages to communicate with your staff
- Use recycled paper and other recycled office supplies
- Recycle all your paper
- Turn off your computers (and the power bars they’re connected to) and lights when you go home at night- this can save you a ton in bills and energy
- Compost!
- Use my water and vinegar recipe for a non-toxic cleaner, also saving your workplace money
