NORWAY SAYS
”We believe that the road to success for modern Scandinavian design lies in a strong belief in the best younger designers. We give the designers the freedom and inspiration to create new designs, and we see it as one of Muutos´ primary goals to be on the forefront in the development of the designers”, says Peter Bonnén, co-founder of MUUTO, a 2 year old Nordic design company comprising of hand-picked designers from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
RAW is a product line based on rough and intuitive interpretations of iconic everyday objects. Every piece is unique, made of a piece of wood carved by hand with a band saw.
The CLOSELY SEPARATED VASE is an abstract interpretation of bowls, plates and cups merged in an intuitive way, reflecting “beauty in disharmony”. Same But Different is a set of three drinking glasses, and although each stacking glass is different in shape, they’re identical in so much as they all contains the same volume.
The name Muuto is inspired by the Finnish word ”Muutos”, meaning change or fresh perspective. Their products can be found in Vancouver at: LIVINGSPACE, in Toronto at: BERGO DESIGNS, HOLLACE CLUNNY, and MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR, and in Montreal: at DOMISON.
