Anthropologie’s finally in Canadian $$$!

Anthropologie Canada

As a Torontonian, I can’t help but crave American shopping. Though when some brands open Canadian retail locations, they lose their excitement quicker than Kanye apologized to Taylor Swift, I’m positive Anthropologie will maintain its spot on my shopping list.

I first discovered Anthropologie on a family trip to Florida. The inside of the store was effortlessly cool and the clothing was even cooler. Years later, it’s finally arrived in Toronto and making me fantasize about having unlimited funds.

Owned by the same company as Urban Outfitters and Free People, I think of Anthropologie as a more elegant (and expensive) version of Urban. While these stores look fairly similar, Anthropologie comes off as a one-of-a-kind store and appeals to an older crowd as well.

I absolutely adore the way the store is set up. Each location is decorated distinctively and the best part about it is that almost everything you can touch is for sale. This ranges from decorative items on clothing tables to the large wooden-framed mirror in the fitting room entrance.

Anthropologie sells clothes, accessories, shoes, furniture, and home furnishings. Walking through the home furnishing area made me wish I could snap my fingers to instantly redecorate my bedroom to mimic the store’s look. The majority of the items possess a nonchalant vintage vibe. The jewelry is chic and sophisticated and as for the clothing, the pretty pieces are really quite memorable.

This store is a tad on the pricier side so head to the sale section to score an item if you’re searching on a lower-budget ballpark. I know I’ll be sifting through those racks.

  1. Where is it located?!

  2. It’s at Shops and Don Mills, the outdoor shopping mall at 1090 Don Mills Road (near Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto). Slightly far but worth it!
