May is finally here! The birds are singing, summer is at our door, the weather is warming up, clothes are coming off, and love is in the air! Self-love that is. You might not know this, but May is National Masturbation Month. So break out the lube, the toys and the porn because we’re getting down and dirty with ourselves in celebration of the best month of the year.
Masturbation, we all do it, well almost all of us. According to statistics, (if you didn’t notice yet, I love statistics.) 95% of men admit to masturbating, compared to 89% of women. 53% of women report using vibrators during solo sex, and 17% of men will admit to using sex toys during masturbation. One of the most popular sex toy for men has to be the Fleshlight as there have been at least 4 million Fleshlights sold worldwide. Interestingly enough, 4 out of 10 women say they prefer masturbation over sex! I can’t say I’m entirely surprised, but 40%?!?
Choking the chicken, spanking the monkey, flicking the bean, whatever you want to call it, like most things when it comes to sex we had to figure it out by ourselves, either by accident, or by having someone explain to us that touching ourselves “down there” was strange and fun all at once. How do you masturbate? If you are like most people, you’ve developed a sure fire way to get yourself off efficiently and probably quickly too. It feels good and the release is adequate, but at this point you probably do it in the same way, every time all the time, on your back or sitting, barely moving at all. So this month why not try something different!
Step 1: Wake up your body. Before you start, spend 5 minutes moving around a little. Get the blood pumping, do some stretching or even jumping jacks.
Step 2: Masturbate with some movement. Stand up, sway, move your hips in circles, bend your knees or even do light squats while you stimulate your genitals.
Step 3: Breath. Don’t hold your breath, make sure you breathe in a rhythm, breathing more deeply and rapidly as you approach climax.
Step 4: Make some noise! No need to scream like a porn star but make some noise when you exhale, like when you go “ahhhhh” after a good shower, or a sip of great coffee.
Step 5: Make a mess. This one might apply to men more but don’t be afraid to make a mess. Too many men are reaching for the tissues before they are even done feeling all the sensation from their orgasm.
