Pretty Ballerinas Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

When you own a pair of Pretty Ballerinas you are sure to walk in a unique and limited custom design. The swanky brand that’s been photographed on Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue, and Elle MacPherson previewed its Fall/Winter 2010 Collection at its Montreal shop displaying a parade of colorful and elegant styles. Now don’t let the pricey tags stun you because these fashionably hand-crafted shoes specialize in high quality and comfort.

A division of MASCARÓ since 2005, the innovation behind Pretty Ballerinas was created by a skillful family-based company in Spain now in their third generation of producing footwear manually. The collection includes eccentric materials and patterns such as authentic snake print, sequins, suede, and leather – not to mention a dogtooth check that is apparently making a comeback from the 80s and 90s. The interesting choice of recycled parachutes used to create sleek pairs of bowtie classic ballerinas in many happy colors adds a touch of green to the bunch.

What’s more about this dream sequence of charismatic flats is that each shoe is named after a Hollywood legend. And what better name to give a shoe coated with hand sewn Swarovski crystals other than that of the iconic Marilyn Monroe – a truly precious pair that can cost up to $500-$600. Among my favorites are the Rosario black and beige double quilt which takes after Chanel’s signature look, the outrageous Disco Glitterball shoe, and the sweetly ruffled pair of purple suede. Look out for the new collection this August at Pretty Ballerinas Boutiques.
