Portfolio Fashion

Happy New Year to all the yourKloset readers. For the past few months I have been slaving away in my basement sewing like crazy working on my Portfolio for fashion schools. I have finally finished the requirements for my applications, but I am still constantly working on improving my portfolio.

These pictures are some of the garments I constructed in the past two months.

The first picture is inspired by Alexander Wang with exaggerated shoulders and the exposed zipper paired with a pair of stretchy bike shorts. I love the sweat material trend. This shirt is made out of cotton sweat pant material, which I think adds a cool vibe to any look.

This next picture is a purple velvet dress with lace all down the side. I think it is super sexy… maybe a little too sexy if you don’t wear tights with it, because it is rather short.

Velvet is all the rage right now and it’s appearing on all the runways and being worn by a lot of models. I think my touch of lace makes it a little racier and fashion forward.

Sequins galore. Sequins, sequins, sequins! This is a black sequin vest with leopard interior. I made it reversible so you can wear it on the leopard side as well. It sort of reminds of something Betsey Johnson would make. It’s sort of tacky but cool at the same time. This is one of my favorite pieces, I wore it a lot over the Christmas break because Christmas time allows for one to dress a little louder than usual.

This next outfit is a gold stretchy jumpsuit. It is so comfortable that it feels like you are wearing one of those pajama onesies, which I totally love and still wear even though I am no longer a toddler. The waist line is accentuated by a velvet ribbon that ties at the front of the garment. My favorite part of the piece is the back because of the back slit which makes the outfit have a little more sex appeal than a toddler in a onesie.

Anyway, I thought I would share some of my stuff for all of you to see. I have been super busy lately so I have not been blogging as often. However I am moving to NYC and working at Elizabeth and James, so I hope to have much to blog about from NY. Get excited for some great NY street fashion and news from the exciting fashion scene in NY.
