Mimi & Coco F/W 2010 Collection

Since it’s opening at Les Cours Mont-Royal this past summer, Mimi & Coco has become my habitual shopping stop, even if it’s just to browse.  The simple designs with subtle details use luxury knitwear and Italian superfine cotton, and have quality and sophistication written all over them. My frequent visits consist of fingering through the sale items and getting a glimpse of the trendy styles and fabrics for the upcoming season.

Autumn clothing is often perceived to be synonymous with dreary, dark colours – and rightly so, as the temperature changes threaten the coming of another cruel winter. But Mimi & Coco have had the good sense to play with typical, yet vibrant fall colors by infusing loud fabrics and meticulous structure in their Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

Highlights from the line include the concept of weaving together comfort and distinctive symmetry with flowing solid numbers. Long, shoulder-studded jersey shirts are the brand’s famed signature style. Earthy-coloured long knit sweaters have also never seen such illustrious contours merged with flirty, feminine tailoring. And the grandfather cardigan is making a comeback this year, celebrating a more sensuous, feminine form. Other flirty pieces include eye-popping colours of lipstick red and violet tops with ruffled-shoulder detailing and animal print. And for those particular shoppers among you, many of the pieces are offered in different colors and styles.
