LG Fashion Week Day 5- Denis Gagnon

Oh Denis. That is how it’s done.

The closer for LGFW at Heritage court this Friday left a lasting impression on the crowd once his creations left the runway.

Denis Gagnon’s models were styled in head to toe punk rock regalia, donning faux facial piercings and intricate ear pieces, with hair spiking from the crowns of their heads. The silver that dripped from their hands was especially striking. Although loud, the styling did not take away from the individual pieces which came down the runway. Hand dyed fringe in black, cream and a variety of green shades, swooped and swayed with every step. Floor length fringe gowns with deep v necklines were crowd favourites, while one look entailed black fringe gathered and braided down the back of a garment. Specifically breathtaking was the fringe used alongside patterened mesh, which looked much like tiny tree branches with delicate leaves. Metal zippers and leather detailing gave these intricately beautiful looks their hard edge, while black and white striped numbers spoke to the punk rock element of the collection.

With his presentation running now at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art, there is no argument here that Gagnon is indeed an artist.
