JIMMY CHOO…I Choo-Choo-Choose You!

Tamara Mellon (President and designer for Jimmy Choo) with my fav, MIA @ the LA launch (rocking the over-the-knee, leather boots from the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection, $299)

Line-ups.  I don’t do line-ups…. EVER!!  I don’t care what it’s for: night clubs, concert tickets… okay, maybe the bathroom because I’m still civilized, but the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection??!! I might have to reevaluate my thinking.

On November 14th, come Hell or high water, I will brave the throngs of eager fashionistas in an attempt to get my hot little hands on a pair of size 7, Jimmy Choo shoes (Damn, why can’t I have size 10 feet, since that’s usually what’s last to go).

Since there is such a high demand for the collection, here is the protocol for this much anticipated launch.

1) The Queue: Arrive way BEFORE store hours.  Wear comfortable (yet fabulous) clothes and shoes.  Preferably, outfit yourself in something that’s easy to slip into and out of for “trying-on” purposes.  If you know what the line-ups are like for the fitting rooms, consider trying things on out in the open (this is the beauty of wearing a skirt or dress).  Apparently, there will be H&M staff there to inform you about “how” to shop. No, really.

2) The Bracelet: The first 160 people in line will receive a bracelet; on the bracelet you will be given a specific time for shopping in the designated Jimmy Choo area. The bracelets are only needed for the women gear including shoes, bags, and accessories.  Customers shopping the men collection or the regular women garments will not require a bracelet…pfft!   When your time has come, staff will let you into the designated area to shop. Honestly, it’s like leading a cow to slaughter, or like shooting fish in a barrel… I surrender to the God’s of H&M!

3) The Losers: If you are not one of the 160 first in line, you will of course have the opportunity to shop from the rest of the collection within H&M. After about two hours they will open up the designated area for all customers (that’s if there’s anything left that is not an XL… not being mean… just saying, is all).

4) Rules of Engagement: To make sure as many customers as possible are able to buy from the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection, there are limitations. Every customer can buy the whole collection but with a limitation of buying a maximum of one per product, i.e. not more than one size (shoes/garments) or piece (accessories) per product, per customer. This limitation covers the whole Jimmy Choo for H&M Collection. And believe it on not, your place in line does not guarantee any items from the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection….what the Hell??

So now that you know what to expect (i.e pandemonium) good luck, happy hunting and may the force be with you!!  And obviously, wish me luck.
