A Collection with Valor

Knave Of Valor

I was fortunate enough to speak with one of Canada’s next rising stars in women’s fashion the other day: introducing Toronto native Kat Law, the designer of  Knave of Valor.  I was first intrigued by the oxymoronic name of the line, which happens to hold a personal meaning to the designer, as well plays on the idea of a commoner vs. strength.

Embellished Bodysuit

Kat started her career as an intern for Juicy Couture in NYC.  She then evolved into a wardrobe stylist and realized a gap in the contemporary market. Knave Of Valor Spring/Summer ’10 Collection was completely inspired by vintage florals and everyday people on the street.  It is packed with floral prints, silk blazers, oversized tees, denim, and embellishments. I had asked Kat what her favorite pieces were and she said she loved the collection’s floral silk pants and the denim zip up.

My mother and I liked the studded sweatshirt (which was actually all done by hand!). Kat is hoping to one day show her designs in the tents at Bryant Park and hopefully make a men’s line in the future. Thus far, Kat’s collection has been featured in Fashion and Flare magazine and will be available at TNT locations in both Toronto and Montreal in the spring.

With a solid range of price points (anywhere from $90-$400) and an assortment of pieces, this collection is suited for any fashionista, whether you fancy florals or decompress in denim. Check out the entire collection at www.knaveofvalor.com or become a fan on Facebook.
