Lanvin for H&M

On September 2nd,  H&M finally announced Lanvin as the designer for its collaborative collection that will hit stores this fall. The launch will put to rest the minds of avid H&M fans made frantic after seeing the store’s teasing video clues that hinted the identity of the designer. One such frantic fan was my roommate, who spent the morning the videos were released scrutinizing them in detail and dancing around my apartment while shouting out his guesses as to who the designer or designers might be. I’m glad H&M decided to announce Lanvin’s name a week early and let him rest easy!

As H&M’s website notes, Lanvin’s artistic director, Alber Elbaz, agreed to the collaboration because he believes that Lanvin and H&M share the similar goal “of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” The two companies’ parallel ideologies seem to make them a perfect fit for one another. The collection will be available in 200 H&M stores worldwide on November 20th, but you can get a glimpse of the collection three weeks in advance when it is released on film on H&M’s website, on November 2nd. Happy shopping!
