Eco-friendly from HEAD to toe
During the FALL/WINTER season, I am a HUGE fan of HATS and other head fashion hardware. I hardly leave the house without some form of chapeau. In light of this, I found some hats that allow one to dress eco-friendly from head to toe.
Space Dye - These beauties can be found at Urban Outfitters locations across North America in a variety of colours. I love their sylish simplicity and how the fabric falls.
Faith Hats – These unisex hats are made from reclaimed cashmere and other textiles and come in a variety of colours: black, charcoal, navy, red, etc. They can be found (along with a slew of other eco-friendly products) at www.thegreenloop.com.
Stewart and Brown – I LOVE these adorable fair-trade Mongolian cashmere shell stitch berets. The soft material and muted colours make these hats ultra-feminine. They also have beautiful pointelle neckties. Check out their website for order information: www.stewartandbrown.com.
Picosworldwide.com- I got to spend the holidays in the Mayan Riviera and while I was there, I developed an obsession with wide brim hats and Panama Hats. I purchased one from a vendor while I was in Chichen Itza, but I found a website that sells handmade Ecuadorian panama hats made from Toquila, a raw material native to the Ecuadorian coast.
Kangol – I love this black Kangol fedora (which also comes in tobacco, camel, and charcoal) made of WoolLite felt! In addition, they have a selection of berets and caps made from bamboo fabric, organic cotton, and organic canvas that come in a number of various patterns and colours (purple, sage, cream, etc). You can find them at www.hats.com, or at a Kangol retailer.
