Barilà Fall/Winter11.12, MFW20

Barilà, a crowd fave on the Montreal Fashion Week circuit, showed their Fall/Winter 2011.2012 collection to a pack house that oohed and aahed at every muff, faux fur cape and flattering frock. Targeting “the girl looking for an affair with colour”, we fell in love with the rich teals, burgundy, dusty rose to the camels and grey. Barilà signature sassy and sophisticated line featured elongated silhouettes and showcased ultra suede shorts, corduroy pants, lace and chiffon dresses and faux leather long skirts (like Stella McCartney, Barilà never uses animal products). If the clothes weren’texciting enough, the heels also took center stage as several models fell victim to the slight oversize shoes!

Nice nod to all the headwraps and floppy hats worn with scarves reminiscent of the late Little Edie in her Grey Gardens hay days.

70s inspired it was, fit for the kloset of a career girl fashionably knowing that she’ll be making it after all!
